ART: Active Response Training
Force-on-Force Decision Making for Violent Critical Incidents
Service Description
Violent critical incidents unfold rapidly, often leaving only seconds to process information, make decisions, and take action. Whether you are an armed citizen, church safety team member, educator, security professional, or simply someone committed to protecting yourself and others, the ability to respond effectively under stress can make all the difference. ART: Active Response Training is a 7-hour immersive force-on-force course designed to develop critical decision-making, threat recognition, tactical movement, emergency medical skills, and effective response strategies during violent encounters. Using Simunition training weapons, protective equipment, role players, and realistic scenario-based exercises, students will face dynamic situations requiring them to assess threats, navigate innocent bystanders, communicate effectively, and determine the most appropriate course of action. Participants will be challenged to balance avoidance, evacuation, intervention, and medical response while operating in realistic environments that replicate the chaos and uncertainty of real-world critical incidents. Training takes place in an outdoor street-scene environment utilizing role players, multiple threat actors, innocent bystanders, and injured victims. Scenarios are designed to reinforce sound judgment, effective communication, and responsible action under pressure. Training weapons, ammunition and protective equipment are provided by Invictus Training Group. Students Will Learn: • Threat recognition and situational awareness • Decision-making under stress • Tactical movement in public environments • Communication during critical incidents • Interaction with responding law enforcement • Casualty care and emergency medical intervention • Tourniquet application • Wound packing and bleeding control • Chest seal application • Casualty evacuation considerations Prerequisites: Students must possess safe firearm handling skills and a solid understanding of firearm safety principles.
